Only it's not the same trophy we were hoping to be playing for in the first ever Big Ten Championship. That possibility ended when we didn't show up for the Michigan game.
The last home game of 2011. These early games are really hard to get ready for but we will be setup and ready to cheer on our Huskers to one last home game!! No food again other than chips/salsa but we will adult and kid drinks and our usual stretcher shots.

That was a great game last week. A total team effort. Eric Martin set the tone of the game with the first hit from the kickoff and the entire team never stopped after that.
Northwestern has a good offense so our defense will be tested again but we shouldn't have a problem scoring on these guys. No room for error the rest of the season since Michigan State has an easier schedule from here on out.
The BRMW tailgate this week will start at 9 am. Come down and tailgate with us before going to the game or stay and watch the game if you don't have a ticket!! This will be the first tailgate without food but we will have both adult and kid friendly drinks as well as our usual stretcher shots!!

Wisconsin 2.0 or just Michigan State?!?!

An early game this week. Kickoff at 11:00 am! We will be setup and ready to go by 8:00 am for the Huskers vs Michigan State tailgate. This week we'll have hamburgers, nacho cheese dip, adult/kid drinks, stretcher shots, etc.
This will also be the last BRMW tailgate where we serve food. We've enjoyed providing food through the years, but we have grown tired of having to clean up the nasty mess afterwards for those that don't pick up after themselves. Future tailgates after Michigan State will consist of beverages only.
Michigan State has been riding an emotional high for two weeks now between having to play Michigan and Wisconsin back to back. Will they be emotionally drained by the time they come to Lincoln or will they be amped up after their last second win against Wisconsin? Our offense should be able to score on these guys but will our defense finally give their game of the season?!?! Our season and road to Indy is on the line Saturday! Here's a prediction that blackshirts will finally be awarded after the game this Saturday!

First Ever Big 10 Home Game!!

Not even sure what to say about that game yesterday. It started out promising but fell apart quickly. It looked like we had Watson calling plays and Cosgrove's defense on the field. Speaking of defense, do you think Bo will be able hand out any blackshirts this year!!
One thing is for sure, even with a hangover loss, we will have a fun, amped up tailgate for Ohio State.
The Big Red Meat Wagon Husker tailgate will be ready to go by 11 am. Since this is a night game and our first ever Big 10 home game we will be smoking ribs all day. Come down early and take in the game day atmosphere and have some tasty baby back ribs while we watch the early games at the tailgate. We will also have bbq pulled pork sandwiches, meatballs, nacho cheese dip, adult/kid drinks, etc.
Here's hoping we come out angry and looking to take it out on Ohio State!! This team still has a lot to prove and a lot to improve on! It was a tough loss but we can still take our division and hopefully get a 2nd shot at Wisconsin in the Big10 Championship game.

The first tailgate of 2011 was a success. A perfect sized crowd to go along with a decent game to start the season. As it seems to be the norm anymore, our o-line looks to be a little weak but we are starting some young guys. Turner looks to be explosive and Meredith had a heck of a game. It looks as though we don't need to worry about the kicking game this season. We'll give the offense a few more weeks to gel before getting too critical but anything has to be better than what Watson was producing.
Our first night game Husker tailgate of the season! It's a late game but we will be setup early as usual. Come down early, take in the game day atmosphere, watch the early games with us and then stay to cheer on the Huskers as they take on the Fresno State Bulldogs.

So, Husker land has been hit with a long, hot, humid heat wave. Sure doesn't feel like football weather does it? But in a little over a month we will be firing up the Big Read Meat Wagon for our 7th year of Husker Tailgating!!
We've made a few changes for the year and once again time has got the best of us as we scramble to finish things up.
This is going to be an interesting year both on the field for games and on the pavement for tailgates. Big 10 bound is going to make for a fun football season. We're looking forward to the new "enemies" invading Lincoln and Lot 7 as we tailgate before each game. Hopefully, we can make some new friends to tailgate with on our turf and vice versa.

Spring Game Tailgate.

We will be tailgating for the Spring Game in our usual spot in Lot 7. Stop by before the game and partake in some Husker fun!! If you don't have a ticket but still want to see the game, you'll be able to see it from our tailgate on the stadium big screen.
We will have hot dogs, hamburgers, nacho cheese dip, adult/kid drinks, games, etc.

We will be tailgating for the Colorado game. One last Big 12 tailgate. Bo called out the crowd after the Kansas game and after last nights mess at A&M hopefully the crowd will be amped up Friday. We will have chili, hot chocolate and heaters to keep everyone warm. We hope to see everyone there.

16 penalities to 2 for A&M who were the 2nd most penalized team in the Big 12. That last call for roughing the passer was total BS. In case you haven't seen the video for the reason why Ben Cotton started kicking. Apparently, A&M players like to grab balls!!

Hagg is our hero! Burkhead is a workhorse. Reed is becoming my favorite receiver and Niles Paul is Niles Paul. Game should never have been that close but we can thank Niles Paulism for the raised blood pressure Saturday.
We thought the Pay Per View's were over but here we are again with another PPV game. The Big Red Meat Wagon Husker tailgate for Kansas will have the PPV game ordered and ready to go. The menu is still up in the air. Once that is finalized we'll post the information.
Kansas is coming to town fresh off a come from behind win at Colorado. Turner Gill coming back will make for an interesting storyline this week. So who is going to start at QB? Will T-Magic be healthy enough? Talk on the Internet is that Zac Lee is out maybe for the rest of the year. Green is capable but not near as fast at T-Magic. This game shouldn't be near as close as last week no matter who starts.

OK, Huskers pretend it's an away game and we'll be alright! Maybe the team should stay in Omaha or Scottsbluff this week and travel to Lincoln on Thursday for the game.
Big home game again, bigger than Texas was. Will the team show up this time? We have the offensive firepower but the defense is starting to be the question mark. We can adjust so I think we'll be fine and I think we have a better offense than Oklahomo had. Missouri's defense looks to be better than past seasons so it'll be another good test for the Huskers.
The Big Red Meat Wagon Husker tailgate this week will be setup by 10:00 am. We anticipate another big turnout since this will be such a big game so if you want a place to sit you may want to bring a chair. Just don't be surprised if the owners ask you to move back right before kickoff so we can put our chairs down in front of the TV to watch the game.
Not in our house. We beat up on some Kitty's earlier this year and will do it again!!! GBR!!!

It's safe to say a lot of Husker fans have been waiting a year for this week! We are ready to finish what we started!!! 5-0 Nebraska vs 3-2 Texas. Not the exact matchup we were hoping for but I know the Husker faithful will like nothing more than to give Texas another loss. A Husker win and we'll give Texas their first 3 game losing streak since 1998.
This weekends Husker tailgate is going to be a good one!! The Big Red Meat Wagon will be a rockin. Come early, wear your red, be loud, cheer on our Huskers to a victory and have some fun!!
I'm going to quote some words from a poster on HuskerMax's BBS to get you fired up:

Well it sounds like the Washington game surprised everyone a little bit with how well we dominated. There were lots of plays that could be considered the "play of the game" but I think my favorite was when Hagg went horizontal to bat a pass away from a receiver and the end result was him getting the wind knocked out of him. That is an example of giving it your all. This team is going to go far and will only get better as the season progresses. I can't wait for the start of Big 12 play but first we have South Dakota State.
There isn't much to stay about this weeks game other than maybe how long do you play T-Magic? Of course, you can't look past teams as anyone can beat anyone in any given week. Look at us against ISU last year!!! Anyway, this game will probably be more of a party at the tailgate and I'm sure the siren will be put to good use.

We ended up winning best tailgate for the Idaho game from 104.1 The Blaze and the Budlight Tailgate Patrol. Check out the video and Colin's interview. The BRMW interview starts at about the 15 minute mark and then watch the last few minutes when they come back and tell us we won.
We're also supposed to be featured in an online write-up this week on ESPN.com about tailgating vehicles. We'll let you know once we find out the link to the article.

This weekend should be a good test for the Huskers. Hopefully, T-Mart and the offense shook off some fumbleitis and is ready to focus in for a full 4 quarters. I'm ready to see some more sacks and T-Mart runs!!

I don't know about everyone else but Saturday seemed to fly by. With the exception of a few bad apples trying to invade our port-a-potty it was a successful tailgate. What other tailgate can you come to that has a TV in the port-a-potty and better yet let's you pee on a longhorn!?!?! We were able to help out some former Huskers who needed space to grill some food and in return we got a bunch of signatures inside the ambulance, good food and good times.
I know the competition was so-so at best but not a bad first start for a redshirt freshman. Finally glad to see some excitement and big play potential at QB again.

So we open as number 8 in the AP ranks. We've got the hype but can we produce?
This off-season has really flew by and here we are with only a few weeks left before the 2010 season kicks off. As usual, we're scrambling with some last minute updates, changes to finish before we're ready to go.
We are amped up to start this season. Nebraska is finally getting some good press. We have a good feeling about this season. Hopefully, the team is using all the close losses last year as major motivation.
We will be tailgating in the same location in Lot 7 that we've been at since 2005. This year we'll have some major additions to the tailgating experience. Two worth noting right now are 1) a bigger 42" LCD will grace the side of the ambulance while the 27" will get moved somewhere else and 2) we'll have our own private, personal port-a-potty in our spot. This will be a very welcome addition especially during those peak hours right before kickoff when the lines can get kind of long.
We hope to see everyone at the first Big Red Meat Wagon Husker tailgate of the 2010 season when we take on the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. What the heck is a Hilltopper?

We are tailgating for the Spring Game this year!! We will be setup in Lot 7 by 9:00am so stop on down before, during and after the game. This year we are testing out a new location in Lot 7 to see if it'll work out for the 2010 season. We'll be under the same bridge, same row/side only we'll be closer to the stadium side entrance. Just look for our inflatable Bud Light bottle. If you can't find us, just give one of us a call.
This tailgate we'll have burgers, hot dogs, cheese dip, bbq meatballs, stretcher shots and assorted kid friendly and adult beverages. Stop on down before, during and after the game. The weather sounds like it'll be in the upper 60's to almost 70 so it should be a perfect day to watch the Huskers and for a party in the parking lot!!
